All-Ukrainian project of the All-Ukrainian NGO Union of Ukrainian Women "Kalyna": results of the month
A month ago, on May 11, the All-Ukrainian project of the NGO Union of Ukrainian Women "Kalyna" was launched and is successfully moving across the country. In just one month, the allies have planted many viburnum bushes and installed signs with QR codes nearby, which allows you to learn more about the organization's activities.
The project is led by Honorary Chairman Oreslava Khomyk and coordinated by Iryna Tymechko. The head of the organization, Oryslava Sydorchuk, and the deputy head, Alla Shvets, are actively involved in planting the plants.
"The viburnum is one of the beautiful symbols of Ukraine, a symbol of courage and indomitable spirit in the struggle for the independence of our native land. That is why we must preserve this plant and spread its beauty and strength throughout the country," commented Orystlava Sydorchuk, Head of the Union of Ukrainian Women.
The very first viburnum planted within the project is located in the village of Nahuyevychi (a village in Drohobych district, Lviv region) near the monument to Ivan Franko on the territory of the State Historical and Cultural Reserve "Nahuyevychi".
Today, all regions of Ukraine are involved in the project, and the first steps have been taken by Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, and Kherson regions. The project involves not only the organization's branches, but also doctors, the military, representatives of culture, and local authorities.
For example, in the village of Novoshychi, in the courtyard of the Pantheon of Glory, the allies planted viburnum together with the military. One of the Kherson hospitals also joined the project, and the staff planted viburnum on the hospital's grounds. The Kherson branch of the Union of Ukrainian Women planted a viburnum bush sent by sisters from Drohobych as a symbol of the resilience of Kherson residents. And today, Kherson is suffering from the consequences of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant explosion and needs our help. So, we urge everyone to join the collections, which have now been opened by volunteer headquarters in almost every city of Ukraine, including the branches of the Union of Ukrainian Women. This is our common tragedy!
The Bystrytsi branch of the Union planted a viburnum in the village of Bystrytsi near the memorial to Atena Pashko, the first head of the Union of Ukrainian Women, which was restored in 1991. In the Chernihiv region, as part of the All-Ukrainian scientific conference dedicated to the 195th anniversary of Hanna Barvinok's birth, members of the Union of Ukrainian Women planted viburnum on the territory of the Mykola Gogol State University of Nizhyn, as well as in the estate of the Kulish couple (Motronivka village) on the territory of the Historical and Memorial Museum-Reserve of P. Kulish. Kulish "Hanna Pustyn", visited the Hetman's residence - Baturyn, where another viburnum bush was planted on the territory of the National Reserve "Hetman's Capital".
The all-Ukrainian project of the All-Ukrainian Union of Ukrainian Women "Kalyna" continues. Join us! This is our spiritual world, our heritage, which represents the spiritual attraction to our native land, values, and traditions. And as Milena Rudnytska said: "No one will destroy the idea we served..."
