The visit of the Head and Honorary Head of the Ukrainian National Women’s League to Bukovyna
During a working visit to Bukovyna, Oryslava Sydorchuk, Head of the Ukrainian National Women’s League, and Oreslava Khomyk, Honorary Chair, met with Olena Ponomarenko, Head of the Chernivtsi branch of the Ukrainian National Women’s League, and members of the organization to discuss new joint plans for cooperation.
In Chernivtsi, Ms. Oryslava and Ms. Oreslava, together with Ms. Olena, prayed and honored the memory of the victims of the Holodomor-Genocide of 1932-1933.
The guests of Bukovyna also took part in events dedicated to the 160th anniversary of the birth of the famous Bukovyna writer Olha Kobylianska. As part of the "Meeting in Bukovyna" event, the Chernivtsi Regional Art Museum hosted the Kobylianska Circle music project. The allies also visited the village of Dymka, Hlyboka district, to visit the museum-estate of Olha Kobylianska. In addition, members of the NGOUkrainian National Women’s League took part in the event "Meeting on Grandmother's Land," in particular, in a meeting of the museum club "Dialogue of Generations" (meeting with granddaughters of D. S. Botushanska).
At a meeting with the sisters, the head of the Ukrainian National Women’s League expressed her gratitude to the head of the Chernivtsi branch of the Ukrainian National Women’s League and thanked the sisters for their uncompromising national position, preservation of Ukrainian identity, and honoring the figure of Olha Kobylianska. "Today it is very important to preserve and popularize Ukrainian culture and language. These are important factors of national identity and state-building," emphasized Ms. Orystlava.
Oreslava Khomyk, honorary chairman of the Ukrainian National Women’s League, emphasized: "Today, each of us should value cultural heritage, take care of it and protect it, and one of the main tasks is to bring the whole world closer to Ukraine."
In her turn, Olena Ponomarenko, Head of the Chernivtsi branch, on behalf of all the allies of the Chernivtsi and Bukovyna regions, expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Ukrainian National Women’s League, as well as to Olha Shevchenko, Director of the Hlyboka District Museum of Local Lore and the Botushanska House Literary Museum, and her colleagues for honoring Olha Kobylianska, meeting with her granddaughters, and enjoying aesthetic and spiritual pleasure. "My sincere gratitude and low bow to Mrs. Oryslava, Mrs. Oreslava for popularizing and preserving the cultural heritage of Ukraine, for their support and attention to the Ukrainian National Women’s League of Chernivtsi-Bukovyna.
