The project of the NGO Union of Ukrainian Women "Kalyna" is moving across Ukraine
"And we will lift up this red viburnum, and we will cheer up our glorious Ukraine!" - this is the slogan under which members of the NGO Union of Ukrainian Women plant viburnum bushes as part of the All-Ukrainian project "Kalyna", which aims to preserve the viburnum as a beautiful symbol of Ukraine, a symbol of our unity, strong faith and unbreakable spirit.
The project was led by Honorary Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Union of Ukrainian Women Oreslava Khomyk, and coordinated by Iryna Tymechko, an NGO's researcher.
Thus, on May 14, Chairman Oryslava Sydorchuk, together with members of the leadership of the Union of Ukrainian Women Oreslava Khomyk, Iryna Chernega, and Valentyna Sichova, planted a viburnum bush in Prince Halych - Krylos on the territory of the Ancient Halych National Reserve before their meeting. Father Mykhailo Dzul blessed and consecrated the viburnum. Volodymyr Oliynyk, Director General of the Reserve, welcomed the allies. The All-Ukrainian Union of Ukrainian Women sincerely thanks Iryna Cherneza, Deputy Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Union of Ukrainian Women, Chairman of the Galician Union of Ukrainian Women, for the well-organized event. The action was joined by the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional branch of the Union Maria Vuyanko, the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk city branch of the Union Oksana Kovalchuk and the head of the Krylos branch of the Union Hanna Sorochynska.
In addition, as part of the celebration of Mother's Day, the Union members planted a viburnum bush in Lviv on the street of the Union of Ukrainian Women, which was officially opened by members from all branches of the Lviv region and representatives of local authorities. Natalia Haletska, head of the Commission on European Integration, International and Interregional Cooperation of the Lviv Regional Council, noted: "The viburnum is a flowering, attractive and fragile plant, but so strong that it can withstand frosts, produce fruits and results; the Union of Ukrainian Women is an equally powerful organization that flourishes and multiplies projects and initiatives important for the Ukrainian people."
Sisterhoods in Chernihiv and Zaporizhzhia have also joined the Kalyna project.
We would like to remind you that the first viburnum to be planted as part of the project was by the Drohobych sisters in Nahuyevychi near the monument to Ivan Franko on the territory of the State Historical and Cultural Reserve "Nahuyevychi".
The all-Ukrainian project of the Ukrainian Women's Union "Kalyna" continues to walk across Ukraine!
We invite all organizations of the UUWC to join.
