PROsvitoria project: what has already been done
For almost a year now, the Ukrainian Women’s League has been implementing the PROosvitoria cultural and educational project.
"The PROosvitoria project aims to support and develop educational, cultural initiatives, educational and youth spaces, promote social cohesion and inclusiveness, restore Ukraine, and contribute to the realization of the mission of the Ukrainian Women’s League: the spiritual revival of the Ukrainian nation, comprehensive development of the Ukrainian language and culture, strengthening of national traditions and customs, and the establishment of a national system of education and upbringing," said Yanina Barybina, project manager.
In wartime, educational institutions faced difficult challenges that Allies are actively helping to overcome. For example, in partnership with the Polish organization Fundacja Try Trąby, the project managed to solve infrastructure problems, including the lack of electricity. For example, for several months, Orystlava Sydorchuk, head ofthe Ukrainian Women’s League, together with philanthropists Teresa Tarnovska and Ignatiy Dembinsky, delivered humanitarian aid, including much-needed generators, to educators from all over Ukraine.
The generators were received by the school of the Lytovese territorial community, the secondary school of the village of Kolona of the Pavlivska territorial community, the Starolishnya gymnasium of the Poromivska village council, educators of the Rivne community, the Karapchivska special boarding school in the Chernivtsi region, the Higher Vocational School No. 2 in Kherson. Kherson", Institute of Public Administration of Lviv Polytechnic National University, Legion sports school in Kyiv. Kyiv. In addition, generators were sent to Zaporizhzhia and Chernihiv.
Religious and educational institutions were also provided with generators, including the Sunday school of the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ in Volodymyr and the Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy "Orthodox Church of Ukraine".
This summer we managed to organize a vacation for children from Donetsk Oblast. The schoolchildren went on a summer vacation to the Taras Shevchenko Sanatorium School in Sokal, Lviv region.
The project also includes the Ukrainian Book for Young Readers campaign. Thanks to the support of Fundacja Try Trąby's partners, many books were donated to children's libraries in Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Chernihiv, Kyiv, and others.
Union members organize charity, entertainment and educational events for children. For example, the members visit the St. Nicholas Multidisciplinary Training and Rehabilitation Center, the Magalska Orphanage, and the Rescue Center and hold warm cultural and educational meetings with children.
The all-Ukrainian project PROosvitoria continues and is gaining momentum. We would like to add that the NGO Union of Ukrainian Women became a partner of the creative competition for children in Donetsk region "Support Your Own". 100 works from different parts of Ukraine - drawings, crafts, photographs, essays. We will soon publish a photo report with the works of talented children.
